Poll Results by Medián from the Past Two Years in One Chart

Since the formation of the Tisza Party two years ago, its popularity among the voting-age population has grown from 17 to 46 percent, while Fidesz’s support has remained largely unchanged. Therefore, the Tisza Party’s rise in strength is not due to a shrinking Fidesz base, but rather to voters from other parties, as well as undecided voters, gravitating towards the Tisza Party.

For years, the proportion of voters without party affiliation has hovered around 30 percent of the voting-age population; however, over the past two years, this group has shrunk month by month. In the most recent Medián survey, conducted in March, only 18 percent did not name a party. A similar trend can be seen among supporters of ‘other’ parties: when the Tisza Party was founded, the combined share of voters for other opposition parties stood at 24 percent. However, just a few weeks before the April parliamentary election, only six percent stated that they would vote for a party other than Tisza or Fidesz.
